Clay County Highway Department

The primary responsibility of the Clay County Highway Department is road and bridge maintenance including signing, graveling, mowing, paving, drainage, snow removal, bridge and culvert repair. We prepare the departments annual budget and provide monthly expenditure reports to the county supervisors. We track and record all construction, maintenance and equipment costs. Prepare the annual one and six year road and bridge project reports and the annual equipment and material inventory and the equipment cost reports to the Nebraska Board of Public Roads and Classifications and Standards. We also do bridge inspections annually and report these to the Nebraska Department of Roads, the Bridge Division.
